I’m trying to get some kind of solid thread to structure this blog around.  Y’all know I love memes and fandom culture and related topics, so are some ideas I have:

Posts with meme templates as well as a short description of the meme, it’s origins, and some relevant links.  I don’t want this to just be “know your meme” 2!!! tho so I’d wanna spice it up a bit. 

Sharing some of my favorite meme and fandom culture related video essays or articles, all linked to their sources with a succinct description and maybe some additional stuff I think it would be cool to expound upon.

Resource/link lists for various fandom stuff like fandom wiki, know your meme, emojipedia and similar. 

Illustrated essays on various memes and fandom topics??  Maybe video essays if y’all are into that.

Three questions: 1 are you sharing your main account? 2 do you have any more info on that weebslayer shitlord? And 3 what does the nongenetic in your header mean?

1.)  Yeah, it’s not a secret.  My main account is @southofsublime.  It’s my art blog and it’s 18+ because I do include violent and erotic themes in my art on occasion.  My personal is @terrorfuldevine, but it’s just another sideblog. 2.) What I’ve posted under the “weebslayer” tag is pretty much all that I know: they’re an anti-shipping user who’s been known to spam, suicide bait, and otherwise harass and bully other users including sending graphic real life pictures of gore and self harm.  The last I’d seen on it they’d deactivated their most recent account. @weebslayer-receipts has some more details but, of course, the blog does have examples of what weebslayer has been up to so proceed with due caution.I’ll tag some antianti blogs in case they’d like to weigh in.   I’ll make a more comprehensive post later if I feel like I can do any solid research that would add anything to what’s already out there.  @pro-survivors @antis-delete-your-blogs-pls-thx @charlie-for-proships @just-antithings @venom-hates-nasties 3.) It’s just a reference to how “memes” in sociology and similar are considered any non-genetic information passed down.  So basically all of human culture, language, knowledge that we share and build on is memes.

I’m anti-censorship and in that vein I’m against policing ships, fan works, and so on.  It’s in my info but I’ll expand on it here: this isn’t a discourse blog.  That doesn’t mean I’m going to avoid discussing discourse at all costs, it just means that it isn’t the central focus of what I’m trying to do here.  This blog is about documenting and discussing memes and fandom culture and obviously discourse is a huge part of that but I’m not interested in spending every minute of my time debating bad faith arguments on the internet.  That’s no fun for me.I’ll also add that I won’t be replying to or posting any hate mail I get at any point.

About Me & This Blog

I like memes and fandom culture and I want to have a place to gush about them and probably rant sometimes too.  This is a sideblog.   This is not a discourse blog but in discussing memes and fandom I’m sure discourse is bound to crop up.   I’m an English writing & pub major from the USA.  I’m trans/nonbinary and they/them or he/him pronouns are correct for me.  

I’m not an anti-shipper, terf, swerf, exclusionist, transmedicalist, or someone who’s going to put up with racism, ableism, fatphobia, antisemitism, Islamophobia or other bigotry if I can help it.  If you are any of these, now is your chance to block me.   Feel free to ask me questions and all that.
