I promised Sharon that I would talk about the First Aid Kit show last night. The opening act, Samantha Crain, was fantastic. I'd never heard her before and I will certainly be checking out more of her work. FAK's set was incredible, they mostly did songs off the new album and they sounded as good if not better than the record. One of my favorite parts of the night was when they did the unplugged version of Ghost Town and had the audience singing along. But for me the absolute best part of the evening was when they came back onstage to do the encore and performed Emmylou. That songs is really special to me because it was the first FAK song I heard and also was the soundtrack to a lot of happy times for me, which later became bittersweet. The performance of that song last night was so beautiful that I got a little teary. Also, one of the photos I took last night got regramed by their official account and that was really cool.

Mike White (who is in the film too as his roommate) actually wrote the role for Jack Black, that’s probably why. I must admit I really love School Of Rock, especially the kids in it.
Actually, the second time I saw it, the kids were what really made me change my mind. I think the first time, I was so distracted by Jack Black because the media was really over-saturated with him at the time, and I was SO sick of him.

Yes I hate that as well!!! I hate how people feel the need to differentiate like 'female singer', 'female songwriter', 'female musician' it's all bullshit.

I imagine a Don Johnson white casual suit will always be in vogue there. At least I hope so.
Yes!

Haha, that too. I generally associate Florida with 80s things actually. Maybe because my family used to go there on vacation when I was a little in the early 90s (which were stylistically still the 80s), and I have a lot of vague memories of it.
memesouslapluie replied to your post:So I’m looking into getting a new turntable, since...
Do you want a standalone turntable or one to plug into existing speakers? If it’s the latter you’ll get better sound quality and there’s lots of affordable options but you may need a preamp too.
The latter, for sure. I have some pretty good speakers that I use now. Built-in pre-amp would be ideal.
This is the one I'm looking at right now: http://www.amazon.com/Technica-AT-LP60-Automatic-Driven-Turntable/dp/B008872SIO/ref=zg_tr_3003611_4
