This other example of early black excellence isn't mentioned because some of us just aren't aware. It was located in the Hayti District. ADOS and FBA clowns, hold that L. Those black folks named it Hayti after Haiti. It was founded shortly after the Civil War. The people within Hayti were flourishing, all classes lived within Hayti. Two African-American entrepreneurs: John Merrick and Charles Spaulding were the driving force behind helping black businesses kick off on Black Wall Street. The black owned businesses within hired the residents. Those folks were able to make capitalism work for them. Black Wall Street suffered attacks from jealous outsiders a few times. On March 2, 1902 some whites came through and burnt down North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company which had been founded by John Merrick in 1898.
