Words Unspoken
She hated being alone. But where else could she let her exhaustion show? Aqua wouldn’t be able to forgive herself for worrying the others, not when they looked to her for strength and guidance. She was the eldest Master, other than the retired Yen Sid, and had been fighting for years before any of them knew what a keyblade even was… She wanted so badly to be their light, even in the dark, but how could she shine when darkness still stained her heart and mind?
Both hands were upon her head, elbows propped on the small table she was seated at. She was… so tired. The temptation to fall asleep right then and there was tempered by her hypervigilance. If she fell asleep, what was to stop something from attacking her while she was vulnerable? Just as she started to feel anxious, there was a knock on the ajar door, and she gasped, head ripping to the side to pinpoint whoever or whatever had intruded on her.
The moment Aqua saw her standing in the door-frame, however, she felt both relieved and ashamed. Her almost-violent reaction seemed to shake the girl… that small, fragile-looking girl who fought alongside them all to protect the light. What was her name..? Like a memory that never was… Lea had mentioned it, and that boy who looked so much like Ven did, too. She was… “..Xion? What are you doing here? I thought you’d be spending time with Lea and Roxas…”
