stop pretending mark rober ISNT a dilf
Just finished theĀ āScience and Violenceā story mission in Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and Iāve got to hand it to them. They did a very good job of showing the general incompetence of men in STEM.Ā āGo get my teddy bearā, ākill all those bugs for meā, āI dropped my keycardā, āgo find my pictureā. You need someone to wipe your ass for you too? Grow up.
You know that post about how a lot of guys in STEM have the same name? Iāve been working at my new job for 2 weeks and Iāve already met 5 Kevins.

Hello Everyone,
I am ThatSTEMGuy, and this is my introduction to Tumblr. Who? I am currently a Mechanical Engineer at a fantastic UK University. Starting September I will be studying for my 3rd and final year, President of the Engineering Society, a STEM Ambassador, Chairman of the STEM Committee and Department Representative for Engineering at my Uni. I also am in the RAF reserves and have been for a couple years. So yeah I am a bit keen. I also enjoy Reddit, Video games, dungeons and dragons, gym, cooking, hiking, kayaking and a load of other stuff.
What?
I have a few aims in mind to achieve via this page but also will have a twitter and Youtube account. These aims are -Ā
To stay on top of important STEM News
To help young people find opportunities in the STEM World
Talk about STEM Organisations and how they affect you
Stay interesting and relevant
Why?
I am doing this because as I have grown up really wanting to be an engineer I have stumbled across so many fantastic opportunities and have realized that a lot of people in my situation havenāt and that is sad. So I want everyone to have the same opportunities and encourage more people to join me in the wonderful world of STEM. When? I am going to try and keep this as up to date as possible. Knowing that is a very vague answer, my current aim is to post about cool things as and when they arrive in my brain. (Couple times a week?) Where? Tumblr, Twitter and Youtube. So yes
I donāt expect to be the next big social personality. It is more a personal project that is helpful for people who are interested.
Calling All STEM Undergraduates and Graduates!
Hello studyblr community! I figured that this would be the best way to find people interested in science because I had this realization and I wanted to see what y'all thought. Have you ever noticed that science is pretty inaccessible to the general public? I mean yeah sure there is the New York Times "science" section but how many people actually take the time to go to that section? Very few. Besides that, most research studies are not even published for the general public to view and enjoy. Obviously the purpose of this is so that publishers and researchers can make money but that doesn't mean it's right. Actually it's quite sad. So many people don't even know about the great things that have happened in science recently. Like Kepler found a new planet that is earth-like. Or that polar bears don't hibernate like terrestrial bears. Or that it a better malaria vaccine is in the works. Do you all realize how cool that is? Yet, outside of the science world, nobody knows about this research. It's really sad because if people knew some of these discoveries, there would be more people talking about changing the world. Coming from a science background, I would love to see some Congressmen with some science knowledge who actually want to make a change in America's ways. Beyond that, let's change world policy about keeping the planet healthy. Switching topics, you know what people across the world look at? Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media websites. Why? Because it's so easy to understand and let's be honest here, it's a lot simpler to look at short clips of people's lives and what's going on in easy to understand vocabulary. Plus it's just talking about yourself and sharing what you think is super cool. Do you see where I'm going here? No one is putting this information in a really simple format that is enjoyable to look at. Why do you think people like using Instagram (other than to stalk attractive people)? Because it's all pictures. Wouldn't it be really amazing to pull together something that combined the easy-ness and brilliance of social media and the vast amount of new science knowledge? I have this idea to make a blog or a website or something. With multiple writers and publishers with a similar model of buzzfeed (and who doesn't love buzzfeed). Make it nice and simple. It also needs lots of pictures and other media content (like videos) to make it interesting and more enjoyable to look at. It's not a big world-changing idea yet but we can't expect people to change if they are uninformed. We can't expect people to want to love science but they should at least be more informed on that then whatever the heck Donald Trump said last week or what Kim Kardashian wore when she walked to her house today. In conclusion, I'd like to see change and as a person who is in a generation that will be in the forefront of making future changes, why not start now? It's a bit goal, but with a team we can do a lot. Let me know what y'all think of his realization. I think we should want to change the world. Feel free to call me crazy.
