mending report;
Dawnward Dawnbrook,
Late last Friday night I mended Lightward Siildore Frostlotus in the Dalaran Infirmary; she had been injured in the assault on the Nighthold. Lightward Frostlotus had suffered minor burns which had been treated during triage immediately after the event, and had had her arm severed during the confrontation with Gul’dan. Surgery was delayed until Friday because her arm needed to be found in the chaos, which took several hours -- thankfully, undeath spared the Lightward any sustained nerve damage because of the delay.
Using blood and shadow magic I reattached the Lightward’s arm and restored it to functioning order. The Lightward was officially released from the infirmary yesterday, although she will need to report to either you or I for physical therapy -- I am happy to continue handling this, as I know that death knights are a particular specialty of mine because of my magical affinities. In either case, she presently suffers from some lack of mobility and strength in her arm, which will need to be handled through therapy and mobility exercises. It is considerably less, however, than it could have been if the arm hadn’t been found. I expect that she will regain most, if not all, of the mobility in her arm over time, with mild scarring and some weakness in the reattached muscles where they were severed.
I will leave it in your best judgment to decide when she is fit to return to the field; in my professional opinion, I would recommend at least another three weeks of physical therapy before she is allowed to return to battle. Although death knights are in a unique position to recover quickly from serious damage, I am worried that the shadow mending may be ill-equipped to handle a rushed diagnosis, and will work better when combined with rest and rehabilitation.
There is one thing I wish to bring forth for your consideration: shadow and blood magic do not particularly allow me to assess whether there has been any fel corruption or other corruption of the recently attached appendage. I would suggest that you or another qualified light user meet with Lightward Frostlotus and ensure that the limb isn’t harmed by its contact with Gul’dan. I am happy to find a volunteer if you do not have any suggestions as to who may be equipped to handle such a task.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Sincerely,
Lightward Os’golde Firefall
