Because I am NOT OK
But I am so good at playing the role of "mentally and emotionally stable" that people forget that
I
AM
NOT
OK
Every day is a struggle. Every day I deal with these issues. EVERY SINGLE TASK requires that I overcome some kind of challenge.
No exaggeration.
I just want the people close to me to remember that.
Nothing is easy for me. Not one solitary thing.
And I don't want pity.
I just want to stop being expected to function to everyone else's standards or behave within their limitations.
I WANT PEOPLE TO STOP VERBALLY ACKNOWLEDGING MY CHALLENGES JUST TO IGNORE THEM
AND START ACTUALLY FACTORING THE DIFFICULTIES I FACE INTO THEIR EXPECTATIONS OF ME.
I don’t think that's a lot to ask.
Just... please stop forgetting I have mental illnesses because you are holding me to unattainable standards and it's ruining things for everyone involved.
