The whumper was doing what was best for the whumpee- the captive was weak, far too meek for their own good, and they desperately needed someone to teach them how to fight. The whumper would just ignore every injury left on the whumpee, and would turn away when they heard the whumpee crying in their room- it didn’t matter, what mattered was getting stronger.

i absolutely adore mentor caring for their apprentice. and then you reverse it <3

mentor’s wounded, and it’s bad. blood seeps through their numbing fingers, and yet they’re too weak to stitch the wound themself. their apprentice helps them out, and mentor guides them through each step. shaky hands and panic don’t quite help; “sorry, sorry!..” in between pained gasps. traumatise the little guy with mentor passing out midway, classical but so damn good

mentor’s been stressing for quite some time now. they’re always in a rush, tons of meetings and missions are always on their mind, they barely get to rest; perhaps they miss breakfast for a day or two, perhaps they spend the night awake. when they’re on the verge of collapsing, it’s their apprentice who finds them. sat down, with a mug of tea in their hands, they finally allow themself to relax - after all, that’s what they deserve

mentor goes out on a mission and takes their apprentice with them. they stay at a small cabin, or a tent, uncomfortably close. the night washes over them, and both go off to sleep. apprentice tries to get some rest - only to be woken up by whimpers. mentor wakes up gasping, shaking, with just tentative soft hands to comfort them. when their facade’s crumbled, they can’t hide it anymore. but do they have the courage to speak up?

Mentor!Caretaker-turned-Whumper

Caretaker-turned-Whumpers that used to be mentors. This could just apply to any overprotective Caretaker-turned-Whumper, but I like to imagine it as the Whumpee’s past mentor/teacher.

What about Caretaker-turned-Whumper who used to be Whumpee’s mentor, then one day Whumpee was taken by someone, and ever since they gotten them back, they became... different.

Once they have their precious mentee back and safe, they become overwhelmingly protective. They take Whumpee away from their friends and family, and force them to move somewhere secluded where Whumper will never find them both. 

Bonus points if they still try to mentor Whumpee with what ever they teach them, but Whumpee is more than reluctant to pay attention or cooperate. It’s up to you what Caretaker-turned-Whumper would do about it.

Bonus bonus points if the original Whumper is already dead (because they killed them), and Caretaker-turned-Whumper just wants an excuse to keep Whumpee hidden away and guaranteed safe, even if the threat is gone; because no matter what, something will always be a threat to Whumpee.

“No one’s looking for you, Whumpee, no one except Whumper. Do you really want to go back to them that badly? What if I send you back to them, would that make you happy? 

“N-no, please don’t-”

“Then get back inside. Right. Now.”
