That was a cat just wandering around the streets.
That wasn’t odd in and of itself. Cats were allowed to walk around, because that was a thing that animals did and could do. But, it -- well, it was wandering around in front of a store window as if it had some sort of purpose. Must have been waiting for its owner inside, maybe? Looked like the store was still open, anyway. It wasn’t that late at night yet.
Still... Rui couldn’t resist crouching down in front of the little guy, wondering if it would run away like he was expecting or if he’d at least be able to spend some time distracting it while it waited for whoever it was waiting for.
Making sure they weren’t sharp, Rui held out his hands, threads forming between his fingertips. He waved his hands back and forth over the cat’s head, trying to get its attention and see if it would play with the webs.
That sounded strange, as deadpan as his voice was, but the bit of light in his eyes betrayed the fact that Rui was perhaps a little too enthralled by his new companion.
