Tess smiled against the darkness; it was a slight, grim twitch of the lips. “I think I’d like to be an Asgardian. Does that count?”

It’s not every day you have a date with the devil, so Wanda is sure to dress the part–red dress, deep and dark like fine wine, plunging neckline, hemline shorter than her patience on a bad day.  She picks a lipgloss that looks like a murder scene, lays black eyeliner on thick and with sharp, dangerous-looking wings.  

Sin is not a concept Wanda is overly familiar with–she’s never thought of it as the Christians seemed to, black marks collected on and against her soul.  More like smudges that could be cleanly erased with time, and perspective, and maybe even genuine remorse (on the rare occasions she could muster such a thing).

Not that it mattered, in her case.

The blonde doesn’t consider this date (or whatever depraved things she might do on it) a sin, but she very much likes the idea of dressing as though she does.  She thinks he’ll enjoy that.

Perspective

The dark was oppressive when she was alone like this, it weighed down upon her shoulders as she lay near the throne of her new master. She closed her eyes tightly, imagining her forest, imagining the lake and the sweet smell of her wide wild land wafting down through the mountains, tinted with cedar. Even in her longing, Lykke knew that this was better, this darkness, these shadows, and she knew that if she but waited, soon Mephistopheles would return and he would speak to her, they would speak to each other. 

It was so strange to be eager for company, to be eager for someone to return when all her life had been spent hiding and running from others. She could think of him without dread, though she still found herself apprehensive of the sheer depth of his power, of the darkness that he controlled that reached so deep inside of him. 

She could look forward to his stories, to his words, and she knew that as long as she did not bite him, he would not bite her. For the first time in her life, Lykke wondered if she might not find a pack with this man--this devil. If that were so, if he would be her pack, she could do without her forest, she could tolerate the darkness, she could learn to like it.

His smile was pleasant; the circumstances were not. “I was thinking I might let you outside today. Let you run a few small errands for me.” His smile widened. “Would you like that?”

As good as the sex was, it was hearing his new friend talk like that that put Remy on edge. He stood, looking for his pants and hopped into them, shooting a look Mephistopheles’ way. 

“You know, s’been fun, cher, but Gambit actually got places to be. He be back t’see ya on de weekend, non?”
