Mer VS The Birthday
I have this strange love-hate relationship with my birthday.
I like presents and I like having birthday wishes. But doing something doesn’t seem too important to me. Of course, this year, I had my trip to Arizona so that was something very amazing. But my husband woke up this morning and asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate and I was like uh? Cause I barely remembered that we were the 30th.
Then all we did was a bunch of stuff together in the house. We cleaned up, did the dishes and cleaned up the bedroom. Then we made bread, spaghetti sauce and a nice Reese cake thingy. It’s delicious by the way and the bread is in the oven right now. Also, the spaghetti sauce is wonderful! We caught up on Suits (season 7). I set up a few things on my makeup desk, we got some sprouting started and now we’re going to play some World of Warcraft.
We did nothing special today. Well, nothing really special today, except really spend time together.
But my dad called 20 minutes ago. He’s currently working 21 days straight in Bay Deception, in the Canadian Artic. They’re in the middle of a huge snowstorm right now and he could have just gone straight to bed after working the 77 hours he’s doing this week with no days off until his 21 days are over. But he took the time to call me and wish me and happy birthday and tell me he loved me.
And that, my friend, to me, is the best 35th birthday I could have had.
