My grandmother went away to throw out a bag of trash and came back home with the words "our house is bleeding, did you know that?" and an incredulous look in her eyes. It's pouring outside, and she keeps talking, telling me how gross it looks, how cleaning all the red off of our balcony almost made her vomit.

And, like, no, I did not know. I check our open balcony, and there are, indeed, little pools of vaguely red liquid on our table and our plastic sheets. There may or may not be red streaks below, on the ground, trickling down the sides of the building, but I can't see clearly because it's night outside and my vision is not the greatest. But I do notice. Puddles shimmer in the lamplight under a harsh downpour, and their texture, their colour is a bit... off.

House is bleeding. Is it in pain and can I help it? My hands are a little sticky. I feel like I've brought a little bit of red inside with me. Does it know?
