Aaron, a respected butcher and a family man in an Ultra-Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Jerusalem, leads a conservative life of community devotion and spiritual dedication. Aaron's life undergoes a series of emotional changes following the arrival of a young apprentice, Ezri, to his shop. Consumed with lust, the handsome "Yeshiva" student irreversibly transforms the intricate beliefs in the once— devoted butcher's life— leading Aaron to question his relationships with his wife, children, community, and God.

This movie was beautiful in so many ways. From the storyline, to the character development and study, to the amazing cinematography of Jerusalem. I had wanted to see this movie when it was out in theaters in NYC a while ago but to my dismay no one wanted to come with me. So I was very shocked to see it on netflix instant queue and decided it would be my movie of the night.

The movie has a lot of tense and suspenseful moments as Aaron struggles between his lust for Ezri and his love of God. I can't say it's a happy film, it's very much within the realm of drama and tragedy. See this movie because it is beautiful and tells a story that isn't too familiar. Not to mention most people believe gay cinema is a gag, well this movie proves that wrong.

On a different note, I think Ran Danker has taken the lead for actor crushes. That puts Jeremie Ekaïm in 2nd.
