My OC Koss is the worst person ever but he’s also one of the funniest characters in the fic

He canonically hates kindness and he will recoil like a vampire at crucifix if anyone says anything remotely nice to him

He also hates thinking because his moral compass is too irrational for him to contemplate. He will literally die if he reflects on his life choices for more than two seconds. He’s an inspector. Thinking is literally part of his job as a detective. But he can’t think or he might realize ACAB, so all his deductions involve massive leaps in logic

Also he hates dishonesty. He’s a shapeshifter but he doesn’t shapeshift because only lowlife sneaks so that, as far as he’s concerned. His bosses have no idea he has this rule and keep sending him undercover. He doesn’t realize they’re sending him specifically because he’s a shapeshifter. He just puts on a different outfit like a normal undercover operative and calls it a day

He’s extremely poor because of discriminatory wages (he’s completely in favor of this.) He lives alone in a studio apartment. When he goes grocery shopping, people assume he has a cat. He does not. That food is for him

Oh my god, I love him so much.

Mercer also has a skewed moral compass, but in the way that he fully believes some people should just die. He’s a federal agent and he has no sympathy for half the peoples death that he has to try and look into. Sometimes you’re a horrible person and the world is kinder for not having you in it.

He’s got severe anger issues and uses a Nokia flip phone despite it being modern times. He’s obsessive. He reads cold case files for fun and never remembers to feed himself. He cannot stand sugar and has only ever had one friend in his entire life and it’s his current partner.

He smokes like it’s going out of style and always puts the cigarette butts in his slacks pockets. He has had several harassment suits filed against him by suspects. Mercer has the innate ability to tell when someone is involved in a case but is physically incapable of explaining how he comes to his conclusions, so no one ever believes him even though he’s almost always right.

He’s kind of a horrible person but he is sooooo funny.
