          the mood is HEAVY — although she doesn’t mean it to be . in fact , it is completely ruining her tea ! a low sigh heaves her chest before she sips at her cup , holding it up to her lips , slowly gaze lifts to look at the king . facial features remain SOFT but she puts the cup down a little harder than necessary .

          ‘  he’s been on my mind a lot recently . . . pa/pyrus i mean , and how he wants to join the guard but — i don’t know it makes me SICK just thinking about it .  ’

“ asgore... ?? “ she meets the king with uncertain eyes, but the shadow of his shaggy hair covers most of his expression. just the hard-set line of his stoic mouth can be seen. even in the bright shining of the surface light, he tries to hide. but the way his head hangs, his posture slumped— it hurts undyne to see. she’s not used to being privy to such sad displays from him.

she knows what he’s talking about, too. all those human souls, all innocent, and all gone by his hand. even if he was not always the one to land the final blow, undyne knows he feels the weight of their premature deaths. but even so, wasn’t it worth it in the end? monster-kind has been freed from the UNDERGROUND. all their hopes achieved. that had to count for something.
