HE SALUTED THE RED-HEAD’S ATTEMPT AT PERSUADING HIS AFFECTIONS  with a deep bow of his head, and at the very least rewarded the venture with a similar curl of his claws.  their cold palms created heat between one another despite the nature of their pale and deathly skin.  it was enough to distract him, for the count had been reading in the dim light from the book cast across his lap.  the pages were old and written in a kind of archaic language that most wouldn’t recognize.  

“   are you suffering with neglect?   ”    his voice was flat with mockery, but his touch remained the same.    “   or have your sisters been unkind to you, drága, and you seek now to throw yourself to me so that i might force them to right their wrongs?   ”
