Sometimes I long for the simpler days, where lastknownwriter and I had weird late night discussions about mermen.

What, you thought I was gonna say something about being a kid or when I was 21?  Nah.  Simpler days are when I had a lot more time to goof off with friends.

I've gotten a couple of anons asking about Annie, and how I feel about all of this.

I understand why she deleted her tumblr, and completely support it.  The people who were bashing her (and let's be real- it wasn't constructive criticism, the community was dedicated to mockery) made her feel completely uncomfortable in the fandom.

I've been in her position.  I once loved a job I had very much, and then things happened and it was no longer fun.  Anyways, you reach a point where you just can't fight the hate anymore, so it's easier to make a clean break.  So I get it, completely.

If I'm grateful for any of this, it's that I've been able to meet her and become friends with her.

Tumblr or not, she and I will always have mercocks.  And a friendship outside of Tumblr.

Very true!  But a lot of people from other social networks just don't get it, so I worry (that whole fear of being rejected again by people I thought were friends).  I mean, I'm a loon on Twitter, too.  But here I post random ass inside jokes about Misha Collins and merman phalluses (which are two separate thoughts, for anyone reading).  So I have this nightmare of the boring people coming here and freaking out about the "real Whitney."

Then again, if they can't deal with the fangirl, not sure why I'd want to know them.
