Here we have the model sheet for Azzura's

friend, whose name is redacted because I didn't want to spoil the last panel of the last page of 'Enemy of the Earth'.

The high concept was to take these characters I know and go back and tell the story of how these two met, and hint at the corrupt occupying government and what they're like.

I hope that worked! If so, we'll see these ladies again in a future comic, later on!

These snapshots are all I have left of these drawings, in a sketchbook that I don’t remember anything about.

Here, we have looks at Meredith before I did the recent design. She’s ... about the same.

Another page from my Azure Claw Comics sketchbook. This is the page before that last page I showed you, because this is the design for my original character Meredith’s look.

I’ve drawn Azzura enough times before, but somehow, I never had a look down for Meredith before.  I had some drawings of her wearing a pretty dress and heavy boots, and carrying a big sword, but that was before I settled on the nature of this setting.

Meredith is a librarian in her day job and a self-taught scholar in her free time, who counts collecting weapons, from before the alien war, as one of her many hobbies.

I tried a few looks that I thought might help reflect that.

The New England coast was never the same after the world’s governments fell to the invaders from another world.

The sea folk had it the worst. For centuries before, they lived around the oceans of the US and Canada, mostly undetected; now, they’re hunted down by this world’s occupying army, seen as an unwanted relic from previous visitors.

Anyway, that’s when it’s good to have a friend with a shotgun to watch your back.

Azure Claw Dot Com is now scheduled to update on the first Tuesday of every month! And we begin with a post that you may have already seen, if you follow my Patreon, but now it’s live and on the main site!

Next up:  A whole new chapter, with new characters and stuff, that I may have posted about previously!
