Most of Billie's habits were as regular as clockwork, and takeout pizza every other Friday from That's Amore was usually one of them. But this time, she'd broken the routine. It was a Wednesday, and the place seemed much quieter than usual. Her eyes flitted to Briar as her order was set on the counter. "Thanks." For a moment, she thought about sitting at home alone with the television on and the pizza box in her lap, unable to finish the final few slices. And just as she was about to turn away, she tugged herself back and drummed her pointer finger on top of the cardboard. "... are you hungry?"
