The old Route 66 bridge on the Meramec River. In its glory days it served as a passage through Times Beach, MO. After the town was contaminated with dioxin and almost destroyed by the Meramec flooding it was cleaned up and revitalized as Route 66 State Park. The bridge served as a leisurely walk for visitors. Unfortunately, in 2009 it was closed due to deterioration but if you donate to http://www.savethisbridge.org we might be able to restore this bridge and connect the visitor’s center to the park itself.
