Hailu Mergia's music is a gorgeous and organic evolution of technology and culture. The one time keyboard player for the Walias Band (if you lived in Ethiopia in the 60s/70s and liked to get down, you would have loved these dudes) adapted the Ethiopian sound pallette for synths and drum machines. This isn't an album about taking chances with new technology - its a journey home from a new place.
