Reason why I watch it:

I literally cannot imagine not having ever watched it. And I watch it because. Uh. It’s literally my favorite show. Ever. 

Why I started watching it: 

One of my friends from high school, literally forced me. I was dead set on finishing Doctor Who and starting Supernatural, but she pretty much told me “no” and threatened me every day that I didn’t watch it, and finally I was just like, “what the hell, I’ll just try a few episodes.” And. I was pretty much a goner from that point.

i desperately want to know how this show would've played out (or, rather, the history i guess??? the myth??? whatever you want to refer to it as) if 

merlin had told morgana he had magic, and helped her through that way. 

if, in the fires of idirsholas, merlin had simply told morgana that she was the source of the spell if she would've gone along with him and said "okay kill me" and seen how that would've worked because while she wants uther dead, at this point she does still love camelot and arthur. 

and i wonder many other things but right now i'm just really wondering about those two because morgana really changed everything.

I understand what you’re going through, though, I never really shipped Arthur/Gwen because, when I think about the legends, Arthur and Gwen love each other dearly, yes, but they’re not IN love, in my opinion. 

To me, Guinevere’s one true love is Lancelot, always. So, because of the legends, that’s my opinion, but then again, I didn’t ship Merthur (which is my OTP) until Merlin XD But I get what you mean with Freya and Morgana. So much potential shipping <3 

If you ever want to just talk Merlin, spoiler free of course, don’t be afraid to message me. When I was watching it, I didn’t really have anywhere to vent and it really sucked. 

Well yes, but in the show, they are an adorable ship so i just squeal bUT LANCE/GWEN IS LITERALLY PERFECT? but then arthur is so in love with gwen in the show so i'm like nO ARTHUR/GWEN IS PERFECT and then i think of lance and i realize the only reason arthur gets a chance with gwen is because lance loved gwen so much he left her to give her life with arthur and shit like that and that makes me ship gwen/lance MORE but like-- like i said-- i ship arthur with gwen but gwen with lance. 

and then merlin/arthur is just like. everything is just great about them and there is so much potential for a relationship between them and LIKE I KNOW THAT ARTHUR DIDN'T LOVE GWEN THEN BUT THE FACT THAT HE SAVED MERLIN OVER GWEN WHEN MERLIN TRIED TO SAVE GWEN FROM HER FATHER RECOVERING JUST MAKES MY HEART MELT and arthur and merlin saving each others lives and honesly merlin is the only who changed arthur-- gwen only changed him when he's around her-- merlin has had an overall more powerful effect on him, i guess? but i really don't like how people contort arthur and gwen into arthur and merlin because gwen really is great and arthur really does care for her? idk. 

and freya and merlin would probably definitely be my otp if not for her death. the entire time i was watching the lady of the lake, i was like "how do people ship merlin with anyone bUT freya." and then at the end i was like "oh. that's how." 

AND WITH MORGANA I JUST MERLIN AND MORGANA HAD SO MUCH POTENTIAL BUT I ACTUALLY KNOW THAT SHE GOES CRAZY SO THAT MAKES ME UPSET BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT TOGETHER? I DON'T KNOW 

but i think you just became my favorite person ever
