Merlin S5E13, “The Diamond of the Day: Part Two”

Can’t believe this is the last time I’m hearing this intro for the first time.

Merlin (as Dragoon) riding through the night is a very powerful image.

I didn’t expect it to happen that way. There being no music and only one shot makes it more powerful.

Arthur’s incredulous little “Merlin?!” made me snort.

I cry for Morgana. For what could’ve been.

They look so young here. Especially Merlin.

I can feel the tears welling up.

They all look so young. Except Gaius, who looks so, so old.

There’s so much potential for bandit Gwaine.

I love hearing Morgana do magic.

So she now has the capacity to steal magic. Great. Just great.

I’m going to miss this intro.

Why are they entering Gaius’ workshop? With the magic-stealing snake?

That’s incredibly blatant but also incredibly in-character.

Oh, please tell me it didn’t work on Merlin.

I wonder if his Dragonlord powers still work? They’re hereditary, and inherited, so I don’t suppose they’re linked to his magic.

It makes me sad that we almost exclusively see Gwaine and Leon as knights.

Merlin S5E11, “The Drawing of the Dark”

Ah yes, Merlin has a cold and Percival is in short sleeves. I wonder if he’s one of those people who don’t feel the cold? I know a few of those.

Every time I see Mordred and Merlin I want to see them use telepathy. PLEASE. YOU SET IT UP BEAUTIFULLY AND THEN NEVER USE IT. PLEASE GIVE ME TELEPATHY.

I’m suddenly reminded how the concept of peace is a relatively modern invention compared to (pseudo)medieval times. But also, please give Camelot a break.

Did Mordred have a sister? Is it Kara?

Mordred and Merlin are SO similar. If only they could see it.

Alexander Vlahos’ acting is marvellous.

The problem with Merlin is that he only defends people behind closed doors.

So this is how it starts to end.

For once Merlin’s wariness might be justified.

But Merlin did do the same.

I have a feeling they’ll go past Merlin.

But so is Mordred.

I wanted Mordred to do magic, but not this way.

Merlin is a story about love, actually.
