Why "no civil war" with the whole Captain America thing? I feel like I'm missing something, is it not a good movie plot device or?

I mean Civil War is literally

Like there’s a Superhero Registry and Tony who is out and proud as Iron Man is 4895793845798275% on board and people like Steve are totally against the idea and everyone just has a bitchfight.

The Avengers are sort of supposed to be a team, as dysfunctional as they are, and we’ve already got Hulkbuster over here (which is fine because the plot makes sense and Tony and Bruce are bffls anyway). But the Tony-Steve fighting thing is like a couple of two years olds slinging their own poo at each other. Also because Civil War destroys the team mentality how are you even going to have another Avengers after that????

Also the idea itself is kinda done and dry, because that was the point of the Xmen movies. Magneto wants mutants to be outwardly mutant and proud (and also kill non-mutants but that’s not the point), and Charles understands that it’s kind of stupid to expect that because there are OBVIOUS repercussions to everyone knowing you have a power. (Also the whole problem in Harry Potter is just that - Greatest Good for All is Grindelwald’s whole thing about magic supremacy and the Ministry/Dumbledore’s position is hiding magic).
