OC Info (‘Names’/Epithets they take after)
FC: Austin North as Topper Thornton in the Outer Banks (OBX)
Merlow is a Roman demigod of Bacchus, and I HC that demigods, aside from having the baseline powers all demigods have, depending on what ‘names’ or epithets of their godly parents they take after, they have different power sets.
(One such example is Chris Rodriguez in the Comments Canon verse. While he is a son of Hermes and has thieving skills, Chris takes after the psychopomp aspect of Hermes (Lord/Guider of Souls) more then anything else. So the name/epithet that Chris gets his specific psychopomp powers from is Πομπαιος/Pompaios (The Guide)).
(The more names/epithets a demigod takes after, the stronger and more diverse their power sets are. Also, it says A Lot that by the time of Percy Jackson that demigods have so much divine blood in them that they can *specialize* in their power sets amongst their own siblings.)
The names/epithets of Bacchus that Merlow takes after are: Theoenus, Protrygaeus, Hestius, Lysius, and Melpomenus (God of Wine; First of the Vintage; Of the Feast; Of Release, Releasing; Singer, Minstrel, Of the Tragedy Play).
Merlow takes after some names more then others, and he is also a Legacy of Venus, which also adds to his power set. Additionally I use the Latin spelling of the epithets rather then Greek as Merlow is a Roman demigod.
Merlow is less stressed with Aeron then Pollux is for several reasons, but the epithets he takes after is one of them.
