It's about the plastic pollution on the sea (for this reason the “mermaid’s tears” title). I care about microplastic pollution ;; 

I practiced with pixel art and i still have so much to learn that's all :,)

Mermaids Tears in honor of #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and #MerMay for the ethereal @faeriemagazine💧 ⠀ .⠀ Tears are cathartic, and creating these tears of crystals & pearls was no different for me as I sought inspiration diving into this project. I recently lost my beautiful grandmother, along with some other recent challenges I've been going through, and so the concept of giving a mermaid her tears came swiftly and naturally during this emotional time. This mermaid's story is different than mine, but I feel close to her as I tell her tale. Stay tuned for the story and the makeup tutorial, coming in video form on my YouTube channel soon, and in print inside Faerie Magazine next month for their special Mermaid issue. I'm really looking forward to sharing it with you guys, along with more of my heart and my struggles. Do you often find your art imitating your life or emotions? I've always been so taken aback after writing a song that I thought was about something completely outside myself, only to find that it's absolutely personal. I never set out to tell that particular story, and in that way, but there it is, folded plainly into the stanzas of fairytale lyrics and floating within the melodies. I love the mystery of creativity. There is nothing new under the sun, after all! One way that I push through during a trying time is to get creative. Prayer, practicing gratitude and writing or singing often helps me in those times where life feels heavy and slow. If something beautiful can come out of the mess, then it wasn't in vain. (Even if you can't see the beauty for years to come). My life's verse is Romans 8:28 which says, "And we know all things work together for good, to those who love God, and are called according to His purpose." We are all called, and I'm praying for inspiration and joy to come be your best friends this week. I know I'm not the only one needing prayer right now, so know you are not alone, you are so loved and you are being prayed for too! Once Upon A Time ⠀ There was a Siren fair⠀ She had sorrowful eyes ⠀ And dried seaweed hair. ⠀ She loved to bask on the shore⠀ And explore the depths ⠀ Not once did it occur to her ⠀ To beware of nets. ⠀ .⠀ One auspicious night ⠀ Under the bright, full moon, ⠀ A lone fisherman waded ⠀ Out into the blue ⠀ His eyes beheld silver ⠀ An unearthly glow⠀ What lay beneath?
