Want to shout about bodyguard AU? I will shout with you, my friend. Imagine Lawrence struggling with figuring out how to handle Joel. Emotional Joel. Larr who has always thought of the Job as just the Job. But Joel just bursts into tears & Larr doesn't even quite understand why but he's forced to comfort Joel because who else is there? No one, that's who. But that's not part of his Job so he's super bad at it. So he looks into taking classes on emotional support so he can do better at the Job.

I’m screaming because from day one, when Lawrence brings home a reluctant and emotionally wreaked Joel, who’s got dark circles around his eyes and gauze wrapped tightly around his wrists, he doesn’t acknowledge it. Not like Joel wants him to either.

Joel absolutely hates it- hates having a bodyguard, hates Lawrence’s attitude, hates his entire situations, his entire life. WHen they talk, Joel always replies sarcastically, always fights Lawrence over things. The first night together, Lawrence has to break down the bedroom door because Joel locked it and refused to unlock it.

“Mr. Rubin, will you please open the door, it is for your safety, I assure you.”

“Fuck my safety and fuck you to- WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING YOU JUST BROKE THE FUCKING HANDLE YOU MONSTER.”

“Just doing my job.”

A week down the line, Joel’s utterly exhausted. He resists cooperation with Lawrence, he refuses to eat, to shower, to go out, to do anything at all. He just sits there on the couch and watches TV.

One day, Lawrence just grabs Joel and picks him up effortlessly. Of course Joel kicks and screams but Lawrence’s got it all under control and it doesn’t even faze him. He carries Joel to the bathroom and literally just drops him into the tub (which is full with hot water already) and Joel is just sitting there, stunned for a long moment. And Lawrence is like  … do i… is this man okay?? did i… did i go to far??? is he going into shock???? o h NO??

and it turns out ten times worse because Joel just starts crying and Lawrence is just fucking clueless like oH NO??? DONT CRY OH NO I DIDNT MEAN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN.

Because we all know deep down Lawrence is a huge sweetheart. He’s just trying to do his job and be detached, that’s all.

I’m laughing at Lawrence not knowing what to do but pat Joel on the shoulder and that makes things worse because Joel just makes a small screeching sound and ducks away and Lawrence panicking and calling Matt like “HEY OLD PAL, HI BUDDY, I NEED SOME HELP HERE. LIKE PLS. ASAP CAN YOU WALK ME THROUGH THIS???“

I just had a thought and I'm scREAMING so I'm going to share w/you: HC that after Sean got on Adam's back during the E3 meetup and discovered that Adam doesn't mind carrying him he climbs onto Adam's back every chance he can get??? Going out to lunch, are we? CARRY ME. Long day at work? I AM GOING TO CLIMB ONTO YOU AND NAP AND YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE IT. I'm just having mega feels over Adam giving little Sean piggyback rides all the time and grumbling about it but secretly loving it. <3

Just imagine once they figure out Sean is just a light-weight and they can literally carry them in any way. I’m crying at the idea of Adam carrying Sean around in bridal style across their office threshold. 

And Sean climbing into Adam’s lap literally makes my heart all fuzzy. He would fit so perfectly and Adam would wrap his arms around Sean on instinct. Every eventually gets used to Adam lugging Sean everywhere. And Adam would totally complain and bitch about it, but underneath all that, most of the time when other people talk about it, he’s all like ‘I’M GOING TO PICK UP MY PRECIOUS BBY AND CARRY HIM EVERYWHERE AND IF YOU DOn’T LIKE IT YOU CAN SUCK IT’ which delights Sean so much.

So I may or may not have been trying to find some inspiration on the Shiphaus tag that I could really get behind to make a really gr9 fic to contribute and I may or may not have seen you say something about selectively mute Sean and squealed excitedly and I may or may not be 5k words into a fic about selectively mute Sean that may or may not end in Speake and yeah the pacing's kinda weird but I'm like, not even halfway done? And by may or may not I actually mean 100% true can confirm. Oops?
