My life journey has taken me around the world and I have met many people, but then there’s those who I’ve had the honor of serving with; the ones who became more than friends or colleagues/seniors/subordinates to me… the ones that became family. This man is one of them… #SergeantFirstClass #MerrickSides ; Ten years ago we both served in Korea and were charge of an Ambulance Platoon as well as a Troop Medical Clinic. We had some of the absolute best #SoldierMedics #KoreanSoldiers #Katusas and fellow #Medical #NonComissionedOfficers in the entire peninsula. When he found out I would be in San Antonio he went out of his way (as he always did) to come and spend some time and reconnect with me. Not many can say they been through the things we’ve been through and even less can understand what we still deal with on a daily basis… but a very rare handful; a handful of this very rare breed who have earned the title of #Doc in the military can. We are connected for life, and it’s amazing to be able to defuse even deeper by being able to regurgitate those feelings, stories and emotions with someone who can relate. It has been a very special trip already and I can’t wait for it to continue getting better as we move into fight night. Special moments are created under special circumstances with special people. This is definitely the beginning of one of those moments! See you at the fights my brother, hope you enjoy the show💥🥊 #Daegu #Waegwon #SouthKorea #CampCarrollTMC #HoneybadgersLeadTheWay . President Ronald Regan once said; “Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world, a Veteran doesn’t have that problem.” (let that sink in) (at Grand Hyatt San Antonio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXjSmIPr2UD/?utm_medium=tumblr
