BIDDING THE YEAR 2016 WITH AN EXPERIMENTAL PAINTING FEATURING THE DREAMON!! Been thinking of doing this for a while, experimenting with a gooey type appears with each hand having a color they can paint with! It still needs work but its a good start I think. I hope to introduce more OC’s in 2017, I have a lot but only draw a few, also I wanna keep up digital painting and working with color! HERE WE GO!
Been working on the Dreamons tonight.
The siblings have always proved especially difficult to design because I want to create 12 characters that could be siblings but all have very strong and unique shapes that fit their personalities.
On top of that Im trying hard to not fall into certain tropes, especially with the more feminine siblings.
Each time I do get around to working on them though I do learn a little more and find something I like.
These are not all of the Dreamon Siblings just the ones I was trying to refine. There are a few more that still need work. Another thing I also really get stuck on is the fact that each sibling has a ‘quirk’ usually an extra limb, eye, mouth, or lack there off. I also wanna make sure their quirk matches their personality or theme. I also need to get around to coloring these babs. Anywho, if you’re curious, up top is The Dreamon, then going down form left to right we have, Violmir (name pending), Magelyn (Name pending), Blubert, Greegori, Reddington, and Amberose.

I have to relearn how to draw halfalee. Decided to keep the multiarms so now they just look like a bottom heavy caterpillar.

I hope folks dont mind me talking I just wanna get ideas out. Despite all the dreamfolks being half created by the Dreamon, theyre not considered related unless they were also created by the same vessel. So basically, the dreamons would not be considered like fairy’s older siblings or anything like that. The dream folk in reality do tend to hit it off very well though. Its kind of like being in a foreign place and meeting someone from their home country. That doesnt necessarily mean that they see a lot of one another though. There are not a lot of folks out there with enough power to actually create what the Dreamon wants so the dream folk are few and far between. The dreamlettes, dream things? Dreamlins?? do share some similar properties though their appearance and abilities vary. For one, they are very malleable. I guess they were made in reality so they have physical forms but the magic used to make them was from The Dreamon so while they all have pretty stable forms many of them are able to shapeshift to some extent, or at the very least their forms are quite squishy and fluid. They dont age but they dont experience time the same way that mortals do.
Their magical abilities depend on who the Dreamon was possession. Their abilities can vary quite a bit, teleportation, creation, transformation, etc. Despite the Dreamon being their maker they dont call Dreamon mom or dad or any sort of parental term. The Dreamon is VERY protective of their creations. They often visit their creations in dreams, even daydreams, to talk with them and check how they’re doing.
All dreamthingies can lucid dream and actually have a bit of free roam in the dream world.
Speaking of Merrilee have another monarch of mine. Been a while since Ive doodled b.jacks. I need to get in the swing of sketching them again.
