MERROCK WINTER TRIP SUNNY, SANDY COSTA RICA IDEAS & THINGS TO DO!

There are so many things to do, both in the resort and the area while we're on this trip! Whether you want to do a little traveling, go adventuring, hit up the drinking and dining, or just spend some time at the beach, this getaway has a little bit of everything for everyone. Let's start with what there is to do at the resort, outside of dining & drinking and the spa (see the resort post for that).

Enjoy local wildlife and bird watching, take a bike tour, hang out in the lounge to play some ping-pong or other games, try out some water sports at the beach. There's also snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing trips available! Beaches are calm, great for sunbathing and relaxing, or you can chill in the hot tub and enjoy any one of three pools (upper pool with a water slide, an adults only pool, and a lower pool). Take in a cooking or cocktail class, enjoy some of the nightly shows, catch a movie on the big screen! There's also the fitness room, for those looking to stay in shape.

For the kids, there is the Explorers Club (ages 0-12), which has video games, crafts, and camping, open from 9AM until 9:45PM daily. (They will allow kids younger than 3 for our group.) For kids aged 13-17, there's the Core Zone Teens Club, open from 9AM to 10PM, with social events, video games and table games. (They also are open earlier for us!)

Welcome to sunny Costa Rica! During our stay, we will be spending our time at Dreams Las Mareas, which is a beautiful resort in the Guanacaste / El Jobo area of Costa Rica. Although there will be another post with all sorts of fun things for you to do, this post will focus on introducing you to our home for the next two weeks.

choose your lodging : whether you're staying on your own, with a honey, or going with friends, you are able to decide where you would like to stay in the resort!

dining & drinks : there's plenty to eat and drink at the resort if you don't feel like renting a car or taking transportation out to find something else!

the spa : need to do a little extra relaxing on your trip? make sure to check out the spa and all of the treatments that they offer!

While you are free to travel around the area to do various activities and have fun, we do ask that every character stay overnight at this resort, just to be fair, and to follow the orders set in place by the Benefactor! Enjoy!

MERROCK WINTER TRIP SUNNY, SANDY COSTA RICA HAPPY HOUR NIGHT!

A little mid-trip pick-me-up and way to check in with your friends and neighbors, we will be having a cocktail party here at the resort, held at the Rendezvous lobby bar. Everyone is asked to wear something a little more than t-shirt and shorts, so break out a suit jacket or a fancy dress, slip on some heels instead of sneakers. This event is adults only!

To jump start the Costa Rica adventure, we will be having a pool party for everyone to come out, relax, and unwind! Whether you want to bring the kids, try out the water slides, hang out with your honey, or just spend some time alone next to (or in!) the water, this party is open to everyone of all ages, and we'd love to kick things off right.

For the sake of having a good time, weather will be around freezing with snow for the duration of our stay, so make sure that you have packed lots of cozy clothes to stay warm on the slopes and in your adventures.

Looking for ways to get things going while in Finland? Here to help! I've come up with some sentence starters and some starter ideas for things that you can do on this trip! Feel free to grab any starter or any idea that you have, and if you are inspired by one to do something similar (or something different), then hey, my job here is done. Hope this helps!

THINGS TO DO IDEAS:

go to helsinki to take photos at all the touristy spots.

get a friend and go spend the night in a real, snow igloo.

get lost in turku and miss your train ride back to the resort.

on a horse-drawn sleigh ride, get a little too close to someone.

take a tumble on the ski slope and spend a couple days icing an ankle.

while in helsinki, go visit a national park to see the sights.

be sneaky and take someone's clothes when they're in the sauna.

be a bunch of kids and go visit santa claus.

go to the observation tower in tampere and try the doughnuts!

host a game night with your friends in your lodging.

go ice fishing with a friend and see how well you can do.

hit up the slopes and show off your skills to someone you offered to teach.

rent bikes to see as much of helsinki as possible.

decide to have a sleepover with your friends and cram people into igloos.

spend the day eating and drinking in turku along the river.

visit a foreign city and pretend to be a couple.

go out to eat, but instead of having dinner, just have a dessert feast.

have a snowman competition with your friends.

get into a massive snowball fight with people on the trip.

MERROCK WINTER TRIP TO FINLAND WE GO! VISITING TAMPERE

One of the cities that we've arranged transportation to in Finland is Tampere. This smaller city is known for its compact city center with a friendly, casual atmosphere and small town feel.

We have arranged lodging at the Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere, and you can stay in any room that you please, with whoever you would like, if you visit this location.
