I realized I did not do much posting yesterday. I had a really good time embracing a Christmas that was under the radar, and in the moment. After the Spider-verse movie (which was quite good, by the way), we had a feast at Dings Garden, a "Shanghainese" restaurant on Colorado Boulevard. The braised Duck and the House Fried Rice were so good, and are even better the next day. Save for the Halogen Eggs, of which Lynn was not a fan, we smashed the Pork and Leek Dumplings, Shrimp and Pork Wonton Soup, and Dan-Dan Noodles, and brought the rest home: my breakfast of the morning. 🤤 We went home, Lynn took a nap, and I snuggled on the couch with Panda and watched a bit of TV before we headed to Burbank to our friends Sam and Nancy's house for some Christmas Lasagna, wine, and a game of Cards Against Humanity! Their friends Mark and Linda, and mutual friends Jeff and Matthew were the only other couples there, which was nice. No expended energy in trying to get to know people, just the flow of both casual and deep conversations among familiars. I wished I would have taken a slice of @nancyk7272's Lasagna, or Linda's pound cake, I could be enjoying those leftovers too. Oh well, I lived in the moment, and that moment was quite delicious. #merrypostchristmas #boxingday #foodie #ieatthereforeiam #chinesefood #theleftovers (at Pasadena, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Br26b9hAmaf/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1b4yeamu7jiwd
