I lose motivation for a Merleon drawing then I remember the amount of more shippers that merthur has and i lock in

It’s an anomaly, right? It’s so rare, but believe it or not, there are those of us out there. ;)

It’s really not so much patience as it is just shrugging it off. Cuz, you know, there are people who don’t ship my ships, like Arwen and Freylin and Morwaine. And it’s not like the Merthur ship is totally unfounded, I just don’t see it for myself. Maybe it’s because they remind me so much of my brother’s/guy friends' friendships? And maybe it’s because a friendship like theirs is so fundamentally deep and rare that I feel like the romance would cheapen it a little bit. (Not that it would, but I like the complexity of it being devoid of romance more than if it was integrated).

Don’t get me wrong, there are some times when I want to roll my eyes cuz there are moments I find it absolutely ridiculous. But then I try and take a step back because I have no right doing that when people could turn right around and do the same for my own ships (in any fandom).

Basically what I’m saying is, it’s not really patience as it is learning to deal with it and ignore it when I don’t want it. :)

And people are delightfully patient with me when they find out I have them only as a BROTP instead of an OTP (I know that annoys some people, but they deal with me which is WONDERFUL)
