Meet Merupa! *mikd gore warning? Kinda? I guess* She was the victim of a freak motor accident that crushed her skull and arm, along with other massive injuries. She died but she had previously consented to be donated to science or to other victims. Her body was claimed by a laboratory under the guise of standard medical experimentation, but reality they “repaired” her body and replaced her brain with a new one that they grew from brain cells she provided in an effort to see how far their cybernetics could go. They renamed her Merupa, derived from “Rupa” (shape, form) and “Merope” (eye, face). There were some unforeseen “complications”, however, so they decided to put her into cryogenic storage until they could handle her properly. Of course, one of the scientists in the lab (a greedy frick) underhandedly agreed to sell her to a foreign company for a fair amount of money. During her shipment, she managed to escape, and ended up stranded somewhere in Asia, with no memory beyond the lab and no idea who she really is.
