About mesmer magic and Cithol
Cithol actually rarely fights, he has no reason to, other than the times he encountered troublesome creatures/people during his time with the Consortium. But what he does use his clones for is utility. He needs to supervise his underlings, organise and take inventory, read through documents and listen to other officers. He had at least one clone basically constantly up and about, and a life like that tires you out fast. He slept the longest out of anyone in his team, and was virtually unwakeable. He paid no mind to it at the time, but later noticed how his skin seemed to become more vibrant after he had left, and in the few rare pictures that exist from his Consortium times he looks paler and more grey than he should.
Mordremoth invading his mind put him into a primal panic mode, and he fled in a chaotic mix of hasty teleporting and running, just wanting to get as far away as possible, sometimes teleporting to wholly different zones, sometimes just a meter ahead.
After leaving the Consortium and living on the kodan ship, he hasn't had as dire of a need for his clones. A life of fishing and pondering isn't a physically busy time, although he wished he could have a clone to do some of the soul searching for him instead. However, he got so used to the clones constantly being there that he created them to do the smallest things, something he actually got scolded for and was told to ask himself whether it was something he wanted to do, or whether he felt like he was obligated to do that.
In the norn village (that I still haven't figured out lol but is probably somewhere in Frostgorge Sound) he learned to be more of a little shit, and has started using illusions for small pranks, usually targeting Havren, his norn friend, and giving a poker faced snicker after. Though if you engage in a snowball fight with him, be prepared to get pummeled by a team of snowball throwing clones.
