Idk I need to hear your side of Sakura and Hinata. I love Sakura as her own self(bs why would you? Medic nin, strategist, etc.) but I hate how she acts around Sasuke? It's like she's forcing her own feelings onto him all bc "I waited for you all my life" and it's the same with Hinata. People don't realise how bad it is until the gender is switched. But alas, it's fictional but fr they both trigger me so much everytime they think about their love interest.
they were written by someone who’s view of women is limited to their romantic relationships with men. their purposes in the narrative are to be unconditionally and inexplicably devoted to the male characters. they aren’t supposed to have any narrative function aside from extolling the much cooler, much stronger male characters. also i dont believe that their feelings are unreciprocated in the story. i think that kishimoto views expressing affection (especially romantic affection) as an unmanly and laughable thing to do, which is why we really only see comic relief characters like gai, lee and (as much as it pains me to say) jiraiya openly and honestly showing any kind of endearment to their perspective love interests. in canon, naruto and sasuke do reciprocate their respective wives romantic feelings but they are not allowed to demonstrate them because as per the narrative wearing your heart on your sleeve in a romantic sense isnt a very “cool” thing to do. (which is nefarious as hell and a rant for another day)
TL;DR: naruto is written by a sexist. hinata and sakura are plot devices. naruto and sasuke are too cool for feelings.
