TMBD is an interesting contrast to Signalis. One is a capitalist hellscape, one is a communist totalitarian hellscape. Both use cyborg workers. One makes them within human parameters, the other makes them visually distinct like 4ft long stilt legs with hooves.

Looks like it's that time again! As promised, I have returned, and I've brought some goodies with me!

Nothing crazy this time, just a new creature and land for you all, being of course Leng (whose art I got from an absolutely amazing artist by the name of u/RingBuilder732, go check his stuff out!!!) and one of the best NPCs in the game, Beo.

I went through a lot of trial and error with Beo specifically, I couldn't really find a design I liked that also stayed true to the character we meet down in the mines. What we have to go on from that interaction is sparse as well, but damn it makes you feel, you know? Here's the dialogue in case you forgot:

"Ah hello. You're not a Protektor are you? What brings you here?"

"I'm Beo. If you're down here you are probably looking for something… I'd help you, but one of my Hydraulics failed and I can't move. I'm pretty much done for so you can just leave me here."

"There's no point repairing an old unit like me, so don't worry about it, okay? It'd be a waste of resources."

"I'd offer you my mining laser, but I don't think your frame could supply the power output. You're probably better off using a gun. There should be some useful equipment in the mining office. It's just south of here."

"Don't worry about me. There are many replacements. We're just Replikas after all, right? In the end, what's one drop to an ocean? When I die they'll just make another."

"Thank you for talking to me. I hope you find what you are looking for."

(Little side note, she goes from just being MNHR in the dialogue to being "Beo" after you learn her name. It's a small detail, but I think it does wonders for making us really feel for her)

Speaking of, whose your favorite NPC from Signalis? I am a big fan of the library KLBR, something about her story (both shown and implied), just really speaks to me in a way I can't describe. I'd love to know yours!
