THE CHURCH IS NOT AN EVENT TO ATTEND, BUT A FAMILY TO BELONG TO.
How do we make the church a place to belong?
1: A COMMITMENT TO FELLOWSHIP
They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. {Acts 2:42}
fellowship; koinonia: fellowship, communion, community, joint participation, contact
2: A COMMITMENT TO UNITY
Now all the believers were together and held all things in common. {Acts 2:44}
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! {Psalm 133:1}
3: A COMMITMENT TO WORSHIP
Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple...{Acts 2:46}
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. {Hebrews 10:25 NLT}
4: A COMMITMENT TO RELATIONSHIP
Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. {Acts 2:46}
