The Dumbbell Nebula - M27 A couple of firsts with this one, first time on this target and first time I ran two telescopes, both imaging, at the same time. My son Karl really helped me a lot setting everything up and monitoring how things ran. M27 is a little small for my longest focal length, but it was fun gathering data on such a popular target. New for me, I am happy with how it came out, especially with only 1 hour of data. Messier-27 is called the “Dumbbell” or “Apple core”. It is nearby in our galaxy at 1,200 light years distance. 
It is the darling of amateur Astrophotographers who have a telescope with a suitable field-of-view. 
I photographed M27 from my terrace in Bordeaux France in November 2020.

Dumbbell Nebula oder Messier 27. My first picture of a planetary nebula. There are not much details, because I can't exposure very long and that's because of my azimuthal mount. At least you see the red edge and the blue inner. I just had to make the most of the rest of the good weather, which is over today.
