I am working on a 3 part Video Series that demos a ring I recently made for my Daughter Samantha.
She had found a ring on Tiffanys and asked me if I could make it for her.
Very beautiful and over 500.00 and so I agreed to try for her. The best I could tell from the photos was that the stone was just affixed to a pearl peg that is soldered to the band.
I went to one of my Facebook groups and posted a question – Has anyone made a ball ring before and could you give me some advice?
A wonderful member was kind enough to send me all the details on how she made one using the tiny domed cup under the stone. I really liked this idea as it gave more security to the Pearl peg. I am very new to soldering jewelry and I was a little worried the stone breaking off from the band if my solder on the peg didn’t hold.
I am going to give you a complete list of tools and materials I used for this project and the one I am making in Bronze for the Videos below.
I have added the links to shop for the items as well. I am an Amazon Affiliate now but FYI – I have bought most of my tools and tons of supplies from Amazon over the last few years because they have the best prices for the exact same tools.
24 Gauge Bronze Sheet or 14K Gold Filled Sheet – 3 inches
16 Gauge Bronze Wire Round – 2-3 inches for the ring band
1 – 8mm Half Drilled Amazonite or other bead or pearl
Here are a few photos of the process in action.
