Week 4, Day 4 of Artober is of Femur, celebrating her father, Metatarsus’ Birthday!

This is actually why I saved OC week for the last full week. While I could have done a drawing for Femur’s birthday, the 13th, I didn’t want to miss out on drawing something for TF2′s birthday. 

But yeah, despite being well over 100 years old each, they still celebrate their birthdays. This year, Femur thought to get a Skull Cake for him. It might seem a bit morbid, but being a magically half-reanimated corpse that’s a +150 years old and will continue to exist indefinitely, you kinda gotta learn to laugh at the macabre. Plus it’s Chocolate with Vanilla Frosting. How could anyone resist?

5 more Character Bios, 3 of the last main characters, and 2 side characters. All I have left are 2 fan characters, and the 2 Bios for Mira Mars.

The rest of the characters are sketched out for their redone Bios. There’s a few additions as well as changes included with the new bios, like finally including Tokki and Jelly, but also giving a change to Metatarsus’ outfit, since I’m giving him a bit of a different role in the bigger story for my characters. His backstory is still the same though. I’ll go into more detail once it’s all done.

I also debated whether or not to make Shibby and Farmbot bios, given that they’re just fan-made characters and (probably) aren’t going to be in my character’s world. However, they do have more character to them than Tokki and Jelly, (especially so in Tokki’s case since her whole thing was being a lesbian that had a crush on Kind.... and that’s it), so I’ll keep debating on it. I dunno, I might make them; we’ll see.

Freiberg's disease: when a teenager's foot hurts

Freiberg's disease is a condition that mainly affects adolescent girls and is characterised by necrosis (death) of the head of the second metatarsal, the bone beneath the second toe.

What are the symptoms?

- Pain in the front of the foot, often felt when walking.

- Swelling and redness may occur.

- Lameness.

How can the diagnosis be confirmed?

X-rays can show the characteristic lesions on the head of the second metatarsal.

What is the treatment?

- Conservative treatment: Rest, ice, painkillers, orthopaedic insoles to relieve the painful area.

- Surgical treatment: Considered in the most serious cases, when the lesions are significant and conservative treatment is not effective.

Why does this condition mainly affect teenage girls?

The exact reasons are not yet fully understood, but hormonal and mechanical factors may be involved.
