(Varigo HCs) after the betrayal hugo tries incredibly hard to make it up to varian (even tho varian has already forgiven him) and works himself near to the bone to do whatever ot takes to prove he isnt ever going to do that to him again
GHHHH OH MY GOD LIKE. YEAH. Even after Varian fucking invites Hugo to live with him in the castle, he's still overworking himself to take care of Varian, and suddenly Varian understands why everyone gets so worried abt him when he overworks.
Varian really appreciates that he's making an effort at first, but after awhile,,, Hugo works himself so hard he like. injures himself somehow and Varian has to care for him and Hugo feels guiltier since he was trying to prove to Varian that he was trust worthy and can do lots of stuff for him to help ease his trauma and overall work load.
Varian has to remind him that relationships like this are a two-way street and, while he very seriously does appreciate the effort Hugo is putting forward, it's also okay for him to relax and let Varian take care of things for awhile...
