Even though Title 42, an immigration policy enforced by the Trump administration which severely restricted the ability of people crossing the U.S. southern border to seek asylum, was lifted last week, the new asylum rules proposed by the Biden administration will also significantly limit countless of people coming from the US-Mexico border to apply for asylum in the U.S.
Make sure to read an article by the organization International Rescue Committee (IRC) to find out how you can help asylum seekers at the U.S. southern border.

I never hear about the US / Mexico border any more - do you know if situations have improved there?
Things are actually worse if anything - arrests at the border surpassed 2 million in the past year, which is a record at least in terms of what has been recorded. More recently, The Biden administration has restarted a Trump-era program forcing asylum-seekers to await U.S. hearings in Mexico rather than crossing the border and actually being allowed to claim asylum.
We heard about this as an issue so much under Trump because both he and his opponents used it as a political football, but now that a democrat is in charge it's less useful for either side to use to further their agenda. The kids in cages are almost definitely still there - they're just not being photographed anymore.
