Since you brought up that good point about tcw missing more clones advocating for themselves, what do you think some would do? (You’re super creative and I’m just curious lol)
Such a shame they never brought up Slick ever again.
Oooh yes, thanks for asking!
It'd be a mix of both ideologies and reactions to the ideologies in a range of situations. Besides just making my OCs canon and going from there, I'd also have the clones confront various aspects of the horrors of war and find things that appeal to them more than endless fighting. Maybe The Republic is blockading a separatist planet, and a clone thinks this is good until he sees that they're literally starving the planet's people. Then he defects. Maybe a clone falls in love. Maybe a clone loses the ability to fight and realizes his life and dignity are in danger, like in an arc im writing about a group of disabled marooners.
I like the idea of clones advocating for themselves medically most of all, so you'd have clones arguing for the treatments they want, requesting some minor healing from a Jedi if possible, asking for/denying pain meds, and even demanding privacy if need be if they feel embarrassed.
And they'd all go about this differently, too. Maybe a clone starts pindering out loud how one becomes a citizen of the Republic and why kamino isn't considered part of the republic (at least it doesn't feel like it to me? Maybe it is, but either way the clones aren't citizens). Maybe a sergeant or other ranked soldier or even their own brothers can see the Questions forming and try to beat them down, both because they wholly believe in the status quo and to keep him safe. You can have clones doing research on politics and history and trying to petition the senate, like we see in TBB for a bit with Chuchi (along those lines, at least).
Clones loudly arguing against battle, against fighting, against being cannon fodder. Clones forcibly taking control of battle if the Jedi is incompetent or reckless. Etc.
That's why I wrote the Network for my OCs. there's Jedi involved of course, but there's also clones who help guide deserters out of the military.
Sorry there's nothing cohesive here aksjdfhlaks but this is what I'd do. I also love the idea of clones interacting with civilians who have a range of views on the clones and their personhood. Not so much clones constantly arguing for their humanity, but forcing them to confront different lifestyles and such. I even have a guy who finds a religion and chooses to leave to join that. His name is Mezi.
