#MyMFIT / Pink: The History of a Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color (2018)
I first visited the Museum for the 2018 "Pink" exhibition and I completely fell in love! The way it was displayed and explained was amazingly inspiring for me as an artist.

“Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay2019 and for me #drawing is a form of meditation that helps me be present. Drawing Comtesse Greffulhe’s evening coat in a notebook as I did in an exhibit @museumatFIT makes it less precious. @Drawinglives @The_Big_Draw” ~ Ingrid Mida

#MyMFIT / Dance and Fashion (2014)
I still remember the exhibition about fashion and dance a few years ago. It was simply magical and I also attended lectures about the Martha Graham company and about Flamenco with Agatha Ruiz de la Prada.

“Today on November 13, 2019 I came to see my grandfather’s art with my family, and felt inspired by his work.” (Michael Mott for Paraphernalia, mini dress with optical illusion, circa 1966,)

Here’s a fun flashback for the @museumatfit #MyMFIT #MFITat50 celebration - the first time I was able to see iconic #AlexanderMcQueen pieces in the US up close and in detail was this exhibition in 2001. Needless to say I was already hooked. I stared at Alek Wek’s horsehair embroidered dress from “Eshu” for what seemed like hours. Happy Anniversary #MFIT❗️ @mcqueen_vault

#MyMFIT Mimi Plange
One of my favorite exhibits at The Museum at FIT was ‘Pink: The History of a Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color.’ I loved how the show reflected how dynamic the color truly is. It’s a passionate color, whether you love it or hate it. From historical references like Paul Poiret to the rapper Cameron, the show was a true reflection of diversity within the world and it was shown in a natural and unforced way. It just made sense. I think it brought together culture and craftsmanship spanning decades and showing us that stereotypes based on a color simply bear no weight in reality. A color can be anything we want it to be, it’s your choice.
