introducing MOODBOARD MONDAYS. 

we love moodboards, right? just like above, we’ve created a moodboard that we think pretty much sums up the mckinleyfm group chat - we want you to create moodboards for your muse!!

your task is to create a moodboard that shows off the general aesthetic / mood / vibe of your muse in regards to the bi-weekly topics we’ll be exploring throughout the life of this group. when you post these moodboards, be sure to tag them with the #mfm.moodboard tag - so we can feature them on our collaborative pinterest and our weekly round up posts. as always these tasks are optional ( and despite the name, they don’t have to be posted on mondays - you can also post multiple boards per week if you feel inclined ).

THEME ONE - FAMILY

for our first theme we’ll be discussing and developing headcanons and more on the topic of family, various discussion topics and tasks will be posted over the next couple of weeks regarding the topic - for this moodboard task, feel free to post moodboards that show the family dynamics as a whole, or specific dynamics between siblings, parents, extended family, etc.

there is no deadline, this is an optional task, but if you do complete it, please tag it with: #mfm.moodboard

MOODBOARD MONDAY: THEME ONE - FAMILY

Blaine’s mother puts on a show of being the perfect mother, and Blaine suspects she was, to Cooper.  But she tries, and after the Sadie’s Hawkins incident, she left her job as a nurse again, to be home, hoping to connect more with Blaine, and his friends. 

Blaine’s father on the other hand, has high expectations and sometimes neither of his children live up to them.  What really digs at Blaine though, is that it’s okay for Cooper to do what he wants, but Blaine is expected to be more like their father. (Is it because Blaine is his father’s son, and Cooper has a different father that they don’t talk about?)   The icing on the cake though is his father’s constant comparisons of Blaine to Hunter Clarington. ( @claringtonhqs )

Cooper and Blaine meanwhile have a tumultuous relationship.  It’s to be expected with the age difference though and the physical distance now that Cooper is mostly full time in LA.  But Cooper was one of the first people he came out to (first in his family), and surprisingly was really great about it.   Even if he teases Blaine continuously, Blaine knows Cooper is the one person in his family he can genuinely count on, and he misses his brother, especially around the holidays.

moodboard one: family dynamics. 

kitty spent her life believing everything her parents said, but as she’s gotten older and started to discover more about who she is and the power that women can have in the world, she’s seen that her parents aren’t always gospel. they expect the best from her, and in turn they support her... in the only ways they really know how. but at the end of the day all she really wants in life though is to make her dad proud. #missionimpossible.

MOODBOARD #3 - FAMILY DYNAMICS

genevieve smythe. sebastian's younger sister is without a doubt the golden child of the family, at age thirteen - sebastian will be the first person to boast about all that she’s accomplished in her short life. while the age gap keeps some distance between them, they are actually quite protective of each other but still have a witty banter dynamic between them.

MOODBOARD #2 - FAMILY DYNAMICS

rose robinson-smythe. sebastian is a momma’s boy. everyone knows it, and his mother is no exception. they’re close, very close and his mother is a forgiving and compassionate person, pretty much blind to the similar flaws found in her husband and oldest child. she’s protective of him, of her entire family and sees the good in him, in her husband, and in her daughter.

MOODBOARD #1 - FAMILY DYNAMICS

edward smythe. sebastian and his father have always had a complicated relationship - mostly because they are so similar in personality, motivation, ambitions, and their inability to emote. still, they are bond together by their love for rose and gene, and still manage to fins some common ground every once in a while, and at the end of the day, they’re family, and they’ll be there for each other.
