To all wondering why Essek is shown in the preview, maybe read the article here and you will learn that the team wanted to expand the machinations both happening in the Dwendalian Empire and in the Kryn Dynasty, and, obviously, Essek's journey in all of this. Which means we will see things that weren't shown or said in the actual campaign. They have done a similar process for some characters or events in TLoVM. So it's possible that we get some Essek stuff in season 1 to explain the character but also to get more depth to the tension between the two nations. Also, slight reminder that the animated series are adaptions of hundreds of hours of a TTRPG into episodes of around 25 mins each. Stuff will be kept, but a lot more will be removed and/or rearranged completely to better fit the medium. (and we've been told by the cast that it will be even more apparent with M9 animated) Nevertheless, I'm so excited to see what this is all about and also excited for the news we will get at this year's San Diego Comic Con. I just can't wait!

Edit: M9 animated will have one hour-ish long episodes. Big improvement indeed but it doesn't change what I said above. (this is not a complain btw)
