(holy shit im mger posting look @capt-marty Im aknowledging them on my tumblr are you happy now)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARGINAL ERROR WOOO!!! ONE YEAR!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
ok, ill bite. whats slapstick comedy, or do you mean like. the concept of it in general
OK SO FOR CONTEXT THIS IS SLAPSTICK COMEDY. THESE TWO CHARACTERS. OCs FROM A STORY CALLED MARGINAL ERROR. its their ship name because one is a cartoon and the other is a jester and they bond over bullying people <3
Specifically i tagged that post with them because like. neither of them necessarily have Other People Who Like Them. I was specifically thinking of Roland (the jester) about Benny (the cartoon), because Benny is. The Worst (affectionate) (he psychologically tortures people) but Roland doesn't really have anyone either.
Even though they bond over being kind of mean and pranking people their bond DOES go deeper than that eventually. Roland opens up to him and Benny even opens up to Roland despite his. many many emotional barriers. also theyre doomed because roland is going to be stuck in an unfeeling shell of himself and benny is doomed to live forever and lose anyone he gets attached to. I love marginal error.

benny by @capt-marty , roland by @townfoolery yeah ill tag @marginal-error .. the story blog yay <3
Hi! How do you make you’re body anatomy. Im practicing stuffs with drawing and im kinda curious on how to draw bodily anatomy more efficiently/Im intrested on how you do you’re bodily anatomy when drawing.
(Btw its me again yay :D)
Welcome back :D
The way I do anatomy is basically like this:
I break the body down into shapes. The torso is two trapezoids or a box (their proportions depend on the body type of the character,) the legs and arms are all tubes that have kind of rough measurements, roughly the same size, though sometimes I'll do the thing where i just put balls where the joints are. Then the head can be multiple shapes, but I most often extend a circle into my Usual Shape. I call these my pose sketches because I most often do them on poses I'm inexperienced with, but this isn't a unique practice, so they may have a more official term I just don't know lol
For example:
characters owned by @capt-marty & @paperclipps7. I often don't include heads in the pose sketches because I have a decent understanding of heads at 80% of angles.
Now this method is... kind of flimsy, so I recommend looking up guides on proportions! Things that describe how large one thing is in regards to another, ex. When standing up straight, the middle of the forearm comes to the hips. This helped me get the vibe of what proportions were a little too long or short.
Other tips I cannot stress enough:
REFERENCES !!!!! USE THEM!!!!!!! anatomy is especially difficult without them lol
Foreshortening is a jerk but unfortunately everyone has to learn it unless they want to do basic poses. You should try to think of your drawings in a 3d space, if you're struggling with a pose, rotate it in your brain or add lines for perspective.
Don't be afraid to bend things around, be mindful of bones and such, but having a rigid drawing is just as bad as one with broken bones lol. For the longest time I just straight up refused to do poses where the characters back bended forwards or back, and it was stiff and it looked strange. So get a little fluid with it!
If you think your character looks squished, try drawing the skeleton underneath! Most often forgotten bones are the pelvis and ribs, unfortunately.
I'm speaking more to my past self here but Arms Bend At The Midsection Not The Hips. If you think your joint is placed wrong, in digital mediums you can use the transform tool to rotate the arm or leg to sit straight. If it looks too long or short, your joint is wonk
Often you'll see this. This specific method is often misinterpreted, but you probably won't need to worry about doing it "right" unless you want a realistic style! Transcript in alt :3
I think that's about everything I have with anatomy!! Good luck soldier o7
I wonder if I should just post random marginal error fanart to Tumblr and just not elaborate. We need the fandom to be real guys
whos the guy you put on the objectum flag as a stamp?
That's Penn Rubin! He's from a group OC story called Marginal Error!! Penn himself is owned by my wife @capt-marty <3
He wrote an infodump about it here, if you want more info on penn you can scroll posts she's tagged with "marginal error" or "penn tag," you can also like... directly ask ig........ (please do, im sure he'd LOVE to yap about him!! :3) (the tags just give you Vibes LOL)
While you wait here's some art I made of him :] the stamp art is marty's not mine to be entirely clear
Penn by @capt-marty (obviously), and Haze by @paperclipps7
