Beautiful | Old Snake x Reader
Summer: He still finds her beautiful.
Word count : 1029 I’d say it's short and sweet. Meh.
Snake deserves love ):
He hadn’t thought it was likely, and yet, she seemed much more beautiful than the day he’d met her. And in a sense, she was just like fine wine, only getting better with time, because with each and every day that passed, she looked much more stunning and lively than the one before. It was something he hadn’t believed to have been possible, not when she had already been an angel in his eyes.
He had been wrong to doubt her, because, with the more years that progressed, she seemed to have ascended higher, becoming nothing short of a goddess. At the very least, that's the way he saw it. He could, however, simply be blinded by love.
‘Perhaps, ’ He told himself. Perhaps he was just so in love with her, he couldn’t see her as anything less than perfect.
On her face, small wrinkles had formed, every crease laying over her (s/c) skin wonderfully beautiful, showing all of her glee and laughter, boasting out to the world just how many instances of joy had touched her life.
At the side of her eyes, very small creases would form, faint and barely carved onto her face, becoming hard not to notice when she expressed herself with that sweet smile. And while they alone were evidence of her good fortune and something that was sure to catch his eye, the most prominent show of everlasting joy worn on her was around her mouth were laugh lines had begun to take form, accented whenever she graced the world with her sound of laughter. loud of soft, whichever way, she was sure to smile, making the details visible.
“What are you looking at?” She said suddenly, looking right at him as she brushed her bangs to the side, taking them away from her eyes and moving them to be held behind her ear with one hand. Meanwhile, the other hand slipped a bobby pin in to hold down the straying hairs. As she waited, she worked to get her hair out of her face as she prepared herself to make dinner.
He stayed silent, taking a moment to truly admire the graces of her features, down to the little pretty dark specks in her eyes that seemed to dance when she grew interested and curious alike... just like in that instance...Just like when she looked over at him.
While the process of aging hadn’t been kind to him, it became merciful with her, perhaps far too generous. Often times he asked himself why she’d stay. Why such a woman would live through such a burdened life with him...
At his quietness (f/n) have a halfhearted smile, seeming embarrassed and beginning to turn from him, trying to hide her face. “ Ah, I know I look horrible,” she said sighing getting the wrong idea, “ Truth be told, I haven't had a wink of sleep all week, “ she continued, hanging her head.
“I guess it's noticeable,” she mused, “ right?” she added, sliding in a rather dry chuckle.
“No,” he told her, “You look beautiful,” he said softly, making her snap her eyes toward him and stare with wide-open eyes. And as she looked over at him she saw nothing but sincerity, complete honesty as he complimented her.
Her face burned red, almost cooking the palm of his hand as he lightly slid it over to her lower jaw, the touch growing more gentle as the crease continued, only the tips of his index and middle touching the point of her chin at the end. He placed them beneath her chin, and with very little effort, he inclined her head more, just to where he could see her lovely face easier, his moonlight grey eyes interested in just her, and that little color dusting over her face.
It reminded him of when she first went up to him, being the one to propose a lifetime together. He still wouldn’t be able to get over the fact that SHE had proposed to him...
SHE had been the one to choose him.
She could feel her face warm-up, the fact she as doing so making her blush even more. And it wasn't like she was flustered so easily, especially not when they'd spent a few years together already. They were already man and wife in every sense of the word, so she would have thought she had no reason to become so girly blushy. But she’d been proven wrong as his words downright stunned her, because such affectionate words didn't come often and neither did the soft creases.
Paired up together they made her go stupid.
He wasn't ever cold to her, but it wasn't as though he was the type of man to throw around romantic gestures or words. He had never caught on to such things, but at the very least, every so often he’d give her butterflies with little things, just like simply saying she was beautiful...
“David,” she said with surprise, her voice small, having been mellowed into a soft blow of air. She could hear her heart jumping within her in a wild frenzy. Batting her eyes close, she leaned over to him, pressing her lips to his, her affection being responded to immediately as he mimicked the action.
Her arms wrapped around his neck as she gave a delighted moan, feeling his hands glide over her hips, meeting each other as they hooked behind her to bring her close. withdrawing from the loving kiss and pressing her cheek to his chest, she smiled wholeheartedly as he held her snuggly.
“I love you,” she said lovingly. She felt his arms tense up slightly as he brought her even closer to his body, which still felt nice and strong. Incredibly enough he still felt strong.
Of course, he didn't utter the words, and she wasn’t in the least bit troubled or one to become dishearted with the fact. Sometimes he said them back, but more than often he just showed her, reminding her that even if he wasn’t the most romantic man around, he did love her, and now she knew he still found her attractive.. no... beautiful.
She was beautiful.
