MI 35 D Handling of Earthmover & Plant Tyres
Our client has specialized in buying, selling and repairing earthmover and plant tyres for the construction, quarrying and plant hire markets.
The company source new and used tyres, primarily from European tyre dealers, which are repaired and then sold to wholesale tyre distributors as well as direct to customers in the construction related sector. Tyres are refurbished through a process of vulcanisation. The company stock is the largest quantity of used earthmover tyres in the UK.
Issue
Equipment was required to load and unload curtain sided vehicles. The machinery was also needed to handle pairs of tyres which weigh in at an average of 1,400 kg and are 1.80 m. in diameter.
Solution
The "container spec" Manitou MI 35 D was the ideal size to fulfil the repetitive duty of on and offloading vehicles with ease. Client acquired MI 35 D with a 4.50 m. Triplex Mast with a sideshift carriage and tyre clamp.
The MI 35 D are also used to manage other handling duties. The tyre clamp fitted to Manitou MI 35 D is proficient at picking up two tyres per lift and is the perfect combination for precision and minimal damage to the tyre. Pallet forks are used for placing the tyres into the tyre repair bay.
