Made a bunny hood to go with the fluffy-tail romper! My first time making such an accessory, I think. The romper fits 1/8 scale but the hood fits typical Yo-SD size, so my other tinies can share it, too. The ties are made with the same wool yarn I used for the tail pompom. Lining the brim with the same soft fabric makes it look so plush~

Baby Soo helps me welcome kindergarten 醒醒 and 困困

I ordered these a while ago as the sculptor had a few pieces leftover from the first pre-order.  It was a delight to have them arrive in beautifully gift-wrapped little boxes. ^-^ Under the wrap were translucent plastic boxes similar to other independent sculptors’ packaging (e.g. ASAI and Mia).

Both head and face-plate came with tooth parts and were well-wrapped in drawstring bags.  The 醒醒 (Xing-xing) full head additionally came with an adorable COA styled as a graduation certificate! 

Translated, the certificate reads, “Congratulations on your graduation from Dan-dan’s (蛋蛋) kindergarten!  This warm family will remember your happy childhood years.  We hope you will continue to grow well.  Wishing you continued good fortune and happiness! with love from kindergarten principal, signed 蛋蛋”, and there’s a space for the “parent” to sign below. XD

The head itself is on the small side for a 1/6-scale BJD - about the same size as Smile Soo, but with slightly more delicate features.  The resin I chose is supposedly colour-matched to “2017 Mia normal pink”.  It’s not very pink, and is actually pretty close to Smile Soo, who is Mia's 2019 new normal shade, just a bit paler and less peach (compare with Soo’s headcap on the right side of the photo below).   The resin is matte and very solid.

The head fits perfectly on the 1/8-scale Daisy BJD body which I had ordered for Soo with a custom neck size, but I also have a 2D Doll body on order for it.  I chose 2D Doll mainly because they make the shortest 1/6-scale body that I know of, and I’ve also seen a Xing-xing on a 2D Doll body who is super cute.  I’ll have to wait for the 2D Doll body to arrive before I decide which head gets which body on a permanent basis.  I have plans for the two of them, Soo and Xing-xing/ Kun-kun, to be the littlest ones in my crew, and kindergarten-mates~

I haven’t sewn anything doll-related for over a month now, because I’ve been making progress on a hand-sewn project for a (human) baby, in between working my day job from home.  Have some Soo to make up for it!  (Mia Soo Smile on a 1/8 scale Daisy BJD body)

The Stars Are Falling Rin-SP head and Be With You 35cm body which I had ordered last year have both shipped!  The BWY body gave me a scare when it was refused by the forwarding warehouse, but, thankfully, I managed to work it out (I’ve a new gratitude for being forced to sit through 12 years of tedious Chinese lessons).

My light tan Akagidoll body is slated to ship after May, and the Guardlove body will only start production in June.  No news yet on the 2D Doll body, but I think I’ll send a gentle feeler in mid-May if I don’t hear from the retailer before then.

Also, Volks is re-releasing Williams and Cecile for the online Dolpa 43!  Aaaa... such charismatic gentlemen they are.  But every time I am tempted by a big doll, I remember carrying my friend’s SD13 Lucas Sweet Dream over a decade ago, and being appalled at how heavy he was. XD;; (Sweet and dreamy without a doubt, but so, so heavy.)  And then I easily escape temptation.

Quick casual snap: Xing-xing suddenly grew up!?... Baby Soo took his body back, and Xing-xing/ Kun-kun borrowed Sasha's body instead. I'm hoping that his final body will be about a centimetre shorter than this.

(new eyes: Salafina 14mm small iris)

After several tries, I went back to the darkest pair of eyes I have for Soo. It also happens to be the cheapest of this bunch - literally a few bucks. The Salafina eyes are beautiful and have wonderful depth especially at such small sizes, but the 14mm small iris pair, which fits Soo better than the 12mm, makes him look too alert for the character I have in mind (slightly dopey and shy) XD;; (He was wearing the 14mm small iris pair in my last post of him, if you want to compare.)
